Snapshot Capstone: “Digital Age” Campaign
South Memorial Christian Church, is a non-profit church located in San Antonio, TX, and has been in operation for over 40 years. Its main goal has been to spread the word of God throughout the community and help those in need. They do this by offering various services, such as, food shelter, help paying bills, and counseling from a trained psychologist. The church leadership has changed within the past year, with the previous leader retiring. Under this new leadership, he wants to draw Millennials back to the church and adjust the church to more modern times.
The objectives of this Capstone Campaign are to help the church to grow, work towards helping the community more, begin to utilize social media, and to setup services via live streaming and podcasts. The strategies include having the current members share and like posts on social media, as well as, inform others of the new live streaming services and podcasts that are upcoming.
On the tactics side the church will start using YouTube to post short clips of the sermons to help generate interest and bring attention to the live services, social media accounts, and podcasts. Content will be updated weekly, with the podcasts happening twice a week. Eventually, the church will also bring full videos to YouTube. Eventbrite will also be used to help bring attention to future events put on by the church. Lastly, the church will build genuine connections/relationships to the community and public by responding to comments daily.
South Memorial Christian Church will have its media sites, like Facebook, and website monitored once a month to check what is working and what is not and then be adjusted accordingly.
